Retired as a high school teacher of theater arts and English; managed a cemetery for eight years until my wife could retire. Served as town historian and Archivist.Led community-wide efforts to establish archive and to raise permanent honor rolls to all Veterans who served honorably from the community, Revolutionary War through Vietnam. For 15 years, spent every spare minute researching the history of the tiny Upstate Village we inhabit; published a million words of local history as newspaper columns, now offered as a series of desk-top published booklets. Spend winters in Florida. In summer, play euphonium and tuba in and manage a traditional marching band that was (by my research) founded in 1853. In winter, play in and manage a little German Band, and play in several other bands --- swing, dixie, German and traditional American.
